Yes, I know… Fuck me. Again, I am very sorry for yet another negative post.
As it turns out the Commerce is not the friendliest card room LA, in my opinion of course.
Don’t risk your money at the Commerce Casino, you may not get paid!
The following hand happened between 5:19 a.m. and 5:26 a.m., on 10/8/2011, on CA-21, in the Pia-Gow pit at the Commerce Casino.
I was at the Commerce Casino in LA and received a very-very questionable call from the floor staff. I was playing Pia Gow in seat 1 and received a winning hand, and was not paid. I was not only told I had no action on my hand, my fortune bet and collection was taken and my winning 75$ bet was not paid.
What happened was I played a hand that was not paid on my winning bet; no reason was given from the staff. To be honest, the only thing I can think of, was I was somehow scammed. Because why in the world would the Commerce rule to not pay a player’s winning hand, in a third party banked game.
Some points I would like to point-out: The three prior hands that I played was set the “house-way” and one hand, I wasn’t even allowed to touch!
Floor men involved: CHI PNG, AL Wang (manager on duty, or so I was told). I have no idea if these names are in fact the real ones. Sometimes the Asian employees will customer friendly American names.
Dealer: Sonny
Why do I feel I should be paid?
This is what I feel the Commerce did wrong, and why. My hand indeed had action. My collection was taken, my losing fortune bet was taken, and my winning hand was turned over for the camera, my hand was a winner and the cards speak for themselves.
Upon my request - I was not provided a copy the house rules to support the ruling I was given, I was denied gaming badge info or business cards for the employees involved. “Al Wang” – the M.O.D (Manger on duty), as it turns out, just pointed to his name tag and said “can you read?” Very rude, and unprofessional for what I think was a 100% valid gaming related complaint.
I AM NEVER GOING BACK - While I know an article like this is unlikely to deter anyone from actually going to the commerce. I thought an article with “teeth” would be more appropriate, figuratively speaking of course. If you can’t get paid on a winning hand why would you risk your money at the Commerce Casino.
So what I did was… I wrote an article that I thought might have a chance of striking at the Commerce bottom line. To read why you should not bring your home game to the Commerce, click here <- Coming real soon, trust me.

ALSO – The food service sucks too, but I guess that is besides the point.
Also, I thought I would make some shirts saying “Commerce Sucks” to wear while I’m playing poker. There is nothing more distressing than unqualified floor people making decisions on my money.
