The Craigslist personals email harvest season is over! [How to harvest email addresses on Craigslist personals]

A job I had recently was working with a guy that would buy harvested email contacts for singles looking on Craigslist. I would get paid $1.75 for every good email lead and $3.00 of every phone number I could produce. This is one of my highest earning adcopy producers. This one produced over 80,000 leads

Thank you for reading my post… before you start to read my post, a reader from my last creative dating post commented to me – “it might help to point out that I make a living as a creative writer.” Now that I have moved to a small town in Insert town here, this mightbe even more of an issue. Because even more people may not get my brand of humor. Other feedback that I have received, is that women are intimated to respond to posting like this. But more than anything I am looking to meet new friends and if something amazing happens that would be very cool. I have a really unique creative personality, I am a very low pressure guy, I too am looking for someone special. Thanks for taking the time to read. enjoy my posting

Here I go again with another dating fucking sucks post again…

I am now convinced every sick-mutherfucker on earth surfs the craigslist personals, I was hanging at a friends house and went to Craigslist on her computer (*not really being nosy)  and I could see that the singles area on Craigslist link has been visited. Then it hit me!!! Everyone in the world is a sick-fucker just like myself. Craigslist is how everyone meets, but no-one ever wants to admit-it, this is so fucking gross. By posting ourselves online we have all been reduced to lawn equipment.

I know normal people read these online dating listings also… Because I was normal once, I can remember about 15 years ago reading the newspaper at Mc Donald’s, while I am eating my Mc Pile of shit. I love the classified section, I’m not really sure what it is. But being a little older everything has changed, forget the stupid sports.I personally love to read the used cars, free pets, rideshare, missed connections… but my point is, even before abruptly becoming single again, I would read the singles thread on craigslist, what a fascinating category… Someone throwing caution to the wind, post a ad in hopes of landing a date, it seems so crazy when you think about it. But what is sad, from my limited dating experience it seems the older we get the less likely we are to really find someone normal.

The response I am trying to trigger is the “normal one” that is – perhaps a normal person surfing this and think to herself, …”is this fucking shit even real?” No, we have reduced ourselves to lawn equipment… 🙂

So how would I describe myself? Mr toad’s wild ride – white, 6”4’, fit, late 30’s I don’t fuck on the first night, that would be considered risky behavior. If my post shocks you, run away! I don’t want your acceptance, I want someone looking for something special, someone looking to uncover a true experience, someone unique. At first you might find I am hard to talk to, I am closed off and very shy when you first meet me.

Other fun-Facts about myself

  • I have all my teeth
  • good head of hair
  • I have blue eyes

  • I love to take baths, because I get dizzy when I jerk-off standing up
  • AND yes! I really make a living as a semi-well known writer, I’m not rich, but I am rich in spirit.

*The picture thing is so uncomfortable, now that I have moved to this small town in Insert town here, I can’t post a photo of myself because not only am I afraid of being recognized on the street, I am worried my friends will find it on craigslist and post my dating ad on facebook, then everyone will know I too am looking for new lawn equipment and this is already humiliating enough.

Just a fun fact: it seems nurses like to use the CL personal service.

If you don’t send a picture of yourself, I will not reply. If you don’t want to send a picture first, then get yourown posting. And besides, if you send me an email trying to bait me into talking to you without a pic, then that would mean you are getting what you want and I can’t allow that to happen.  🙂 If you have a comment, rude or nice I will always politely respond. Thank you for reading and have a safe journey in life

Make sure to get your full head in-front of the shotgun.. thank you for calling!

Craigslist recently implemented changes that prohibited you from directly getting the email address from a response.

I sold my eBay sellers account on eBay

I sold my eBay sellers account on eBay. Susan a friend of mine at the time had this idea.

To make a website along the lines of my blog and post/sell items garage sale style kinda-like eBay. At the time I thought that was a ridiculously bad idea; little did I know or could fully understand the true genius behind this and how good of an idea this really was.

About a year before that I had more or less quit selling on eBay (about 5-6 years ago) but my friends Jeff and Susan were still selling on eBay and going very strong. I would checkout what they were doing and thought to myself, how are they making any money? I thought to myself eBay had really jumped the shark.

So recently (2013) when I sold a few items I had laying around the house and the cost to do this was upwards of 25% plus Paypal fees I knew my eBay sellers account usefulness was over. So I decided to sell my eBay sellers account.

I had already been familiar with people selling eBay and Paypal accounts from the website PayPal sucks. Dealing with eBay and PayPal for over 12 plus years I have had some interesting experiences and some priceless information that has helped me in my personal web business. eBay is only a website and comes up with some wild resolutions,  so if your going to sell on eBay then you are at the mercy of their terms and condition’s.

My experience with eBay has been when it comes down to-it eBay rules whatever favors their position; so you need to be prepared for the worst in any situation. Because you don’t know who your dealing with and quite frankly neither does eBay. I guess the only thing I can say in defense of eBay, they really have no playbook for dealing with millions of transactions in a free-trade environment.

I may have been one of the few sellers to see eBay at it’s best and it’s worst. eBay started to implement changes that really started to hurt sellers. The Power Seller exodus and start a website> http://www.powersellersunite.com/ Unfavorable terms, high fees, feedback restrictions made seller run for the hills.

These days the research I uncovered is that sellers now have to really jump over hurdles to sell online witch really seems silly, because anyone can start selling online with their own website for like $10 dollar investment and no barrier, and completely bypass eBay. I think people forget after-all eBay and Paypal are really only a website that started by selling Beanie Baby’s, without sellers and buyers, they have nothing.

Because my account was started 12 years ago and I had 100% positive feedback with 475 consumer reviews  I had establish myself for such along time I had no limits on my sellers account.

Why I sold so cheap – I sold my eBay sellers account for $1500 to (*I know this is cheap) a guy that had a good establish history. I had many offers on my eBay account, my PayPal account and even my Bank account! I had offers up to 3000+ but mostly from people with 10 feedback, or low or bad feedback, this was a concern for me. I didn’t want for this transaction togo bad on me. The info I had on selling my eBay sellers account was only what I could find published on the web and viewing what past sellers accounts sold for and that was poor at best. So I had no clue how this would turnout.

My Account SOLD! It really stated to hit me when it sold, holyshit! I put my hart and soul into my account, over the years I did my best to be a good eBayer. My motto was: I never wanted to take someones money, if they were not happy. Besides, I personally never wanted to pay for something that was miss-represented. Buying online is hard enough, alot goes into buying, mailing and waiting for the item. So I got the payment and the first thing I did was run to the bank and take out the maximum amount of money I could from my Paypal account. I started looking at my account, and stated to get worried, besides this was all my work. I have not updated my info in some time, after dealing with eBay it just became to big of risk giving them too much info, just was too much exposure, my credit card had expired, the address was 4 years old so I really had no exposure. My biggest fear was eBay shuts it down, the guy does a charge back and I am out the account, the money and left holding my dick.

What would I have done different? Because the buyer is buying my sellers account I would say the buyer has to pay the final value fee for the auction for the seller’s account. eBay has really become a different market, you can no longer sell things with thin margins.

So what happened? The transaction really went flawlessly, I was flat amazed, the seller and I got on the phone in a 3 way call with eBay support, and they made the transfer. The eBay phone support had no issue with the transfer

Investigative Writing

Have you ever thought of yourself as an investigative writer? Think about the countless hours of research that you do from your computer. Sifting through facts and opinions to compile an exciting and organic article on the very same subject others have written on. While, all topics will be written on by various authors, how do you give yourself the upper hand and edge to stand out apart from the rest? Let me tell you a little story about what I found to be very lucrative and provided more facts than any other form of research I had done before.

One day, I was out and about running errands in town and decided to get an oil change with some money I had left over from the bills. As I waited, I pondered on types of articles I could create just from my day in town. The longer I sat there the more I thought about writing about these automotive men; what they did, how much they were paid, type of degrees and experience it takes in their field, etc. Then, I thought about how much research it would take to figure all that out, as I have never really gotten into the automotive sector in my writing.

With my creativity flowing and the overwhelming urge to write, I decided to put that creativity to use. If I wanted to research, what better place to do it than right where I am; in the heart of where it’s all happening. There was no better place than this automotive garage to gather my facts to comprise a masterpiece, but how? Then it came to me, investigative writing. Act like a real life reporter. Question those who are actually doing the job. Here they are right in front of me.

So, this is what I did. They were actually open to the idea and some felt like superstars for being interviewed; a win/win situation all the way around. I interviewed 3 to 4 of the current employees who, were from all walks of life with a common denominator of an interest. I asked about their jobs, salary, work environment, education and home life. No more than about 10 minutes with each of them and I had a notebook full of powerful information. No website was going to give me this firsthand information. I headed home and wrote a great article that attracts endless amounts of traffic. I receive emails from countless people about my article and have landed some jobs from it as well.

Now, when I am out and about, I try to ask more questions and get a feel for people and their jobs. This assists me in my writing, regardless of the subject. You never know where your next great article or eBook will come from. The possibilities are endless.

All it takes is a little initiative on your part to become an investigative writer. Think of it like talking to a friend. Don’t overcrowd your head with thoughts of pulling of a masterpiece; simply look at it as putting together the facts for people. Facts from first hand experiences. Become your own PI and jump into a new realm of possibilities through your writing. It’s invigorating, energizing and good for the soul. Too often, many writers become less social while trying to earn their bucks. This will also give you that opportunity to get out and socialize with others, all the while working on your next article. After all, where do you think the newspapers learn about their subjects? Sure, some are researched on the web but, others are recorded from talking with those who have first hand experience in any given area.

Don’t rule out the possibility of using this method of research and it doesn’t have to take away from anything. If you are already out running errands, you can simply gather your info from the places that you are visiting. Try it and you might be surprised by the results.

Cash receipt exchange [website business idea]

What is Cash Receipt Exchange?

There is little doubt of the importance of the receipt. It is easily the most important business idea of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Indeed, the receipt is a powerful document. It is proof of purchase, expense, a paper trail. It is necessary for a refund or to prove expenses. An idea as powerful as the cash receipt is the ability of people from all over the world to easily share information. Cash Receipt Exchange is the marriage of these two powerful ideas. A community of individuals concerned with maintenance of their cash receipts.

Why Cash Receipts?

We have discovered, in this information age that many of our transactions are conducted with debit and credit cards. We can easily access these records through our banks and credit card statements. You, like us, easily manage proof of purchases you make electronically. Our cash receipts often slip through our fingers and are forever lost, unable to prove that expense. Cash Receipt Exchange creates a digital paper trail for cash purchases.

Here’s how it works:

If you need to maintain receipts, you upload your cash receipts. Because all of your uploads are viewable by the other members of the community, we request that you don’t post receipts made by credit cards, debit cards or that have personal information on them.

If, for instance, you are curious what a meal for two in New York City costs, you can view a cash receipt. If you need to know what a tank of gasoline costs in Albuquerque, you can search the database for a relevant receipt. Additionally, you have the peace of mind, that should you need it for any reason, your cash receipt uploaded is safely available you’re your retrieval at the appropriate time. Simple. Now you have the opportunity to consolidate all of your cash receipts in a centralized, online storage service. No more shoeboxes overflowing with receipts.

Understanding Micro lending and Microfinance

Micro lending and microfinance are two terms that are often used interchangeably.  Micro lending is making a small loan through a micro finance company to a poor individual from an emerging or third world country.  Microfinance companies establish a local contact in various emerging and third world countries, such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Mozambique, and other countries. Individuals with business ideas that they cannot afford to start on their own, apply to the microfinance company for a loan.  If the microfinance company thinks the idea is good, they put it out into their network of investors and seek microloans.  In the traditional world of finance, a loan of $500 would be unthinkable.  There’s not enough money involved to cover the processing of such a small loan.  But in the microfinance, a loan of $500 could be just enough to get a new business started in Bolivia that improves the local economy and the life of a family that will work that business.  Micro lending relies upon investors that are willing to make a small loan.  The investor has the opportunity for the possibility of a good result with minimal risk.  For most investors, a loss of $500 is not something they would like, but it’s not going to force them into bankruptcy either.  The Microfinance company obtains a guarantee from the entrepreneur, maintains contact, collects the payments and forwards the returns to the investor.  Really, the world of microfinance and micro lending offer a win-win situation for all involved.  Microfinance offers smaller investors or larger investors looking to diversify, a tremendous opportunity to give back to the world.  Micro lending also offers a tremendous opportunity for entrepreneurs that otherwise could not afford to start a business, a new lease on life.  Once they’ve repaid their micro loan, they are creating new economies in places desperate for any new economy.  Microlending is truly a good thing and will become even more popular as the word gets out about all of the fantastic benefits that microlending and microfinance are providing to all involved.

How to become a overseas business investment company

You don’t have to be a millionaire to start an international company. Micro lending is a strong emerging industry. Micro lending serves to be a great advantage to developing countries with citizens who are in dire need of financial assistance. This method could stimulate the economies of these countries – and your own bank account.

Micro lending is also known as micro finance or micro credit. This generally refers to the process of extending small loans to less fortunate people, usually in other countries. These loans are primarily intended to assist people in starting their own businesses or expanding an existing one. This practice began in Bangladesh in the 1970s. Now it is mostly done in countries outside of the US, but the prospect is expanding. Micro Lending allows poor, unemployed, or otherwise incapable people to engage in self-employment and business projects. This industry serves to be a secret goldmine for those wishing to generate extra income while also helping to stimulate the economy and assist the poor. It is one of the few ways to help others while helping yourself. These people are also able to generate their own income and to be independent, possibly improving their financial situation. Most of these people also have families and overdue bills to take care of. When they are able to pay their own bills and establish a disposable income, the economy reaches a growth spurt. Their standard of living also improves dramatically. A recent study of this industry revealed that there are about ten thousand Micro Lending companies in the United States. The study also reveals that the poverty of the customers does not determine profitability. The key is to develop loan portfolios which are designed to keep default rates at a minimum or, hopefully, nonexistent levels. The report foresees consolidation of these micro lending institutions as well as down-scaling of large lending institutions. One of the most prominent Micro Lenders is Muhammad Yunus. Yunus has received the Nobel Peace Prize for his successful and altruistic enterprise, the Grameen Bank. Investing only $27 to many women in Bangladesh, Yunus has helped to save women from high-interest rates. These women have been able to use these micro loans to jump-start their businesses and help support their families. The Grameen Bank has a 98 per cent repayment rate. The bank is now worth over 2.5 billion dollars. Yunus is a prime example of the opportunities available by giving small loans to poor people and allowing them to help themselves.

  • Unemployed people
  • Poor people
  • People who don’t have credit or collateral
  • People wishing or struggling to start a businesses
  • Families and people needing income

Even though there are millions of people below the poverty line in the United States, it is difficult to sell micro lending to US customers for various reasons:

1. There is easy access to loans even if you’re poor.
2. Loans interest rate caps are higher in the United States.
3. Costs of marketing and service are higher. However, if you offer micro lending overseas, you can gain through double or triple interest.

Of course, the interest you should offer must always be lower than the interest people overseas would get from local loan sharks. Otherwise, they would opt for these local lenders. Being competitive by offering lower interest rates will allow them to come to you for these loans. The interest rates vary with each country. These rates vary from 20% to 90% depending on the country from which the borrower resides in. This is a great way to earn money and help people. A Micro Lender can offer seemingly small funds such as $100, $200, and even $25 to people in great need of these services. Then when the people begin to build their businesses and generate income, they pay back your loan amount plus your competitive interest rate.

1. Decide the amount of money you will be able to loan at a time ($25, $100, etc.)
2. Establish a no-tolerance policy for late/missed repayments<
3. Establish areas you will be lending to
4. Establish a competitive interest rate
5. After a previously set date, make sure loans and interest are paid back (2 weeks, 30 days, etc.)
6. Collect money and make profit!

Before you give out loans, make sure to interview the clients and make sure they will be capable to pay the money back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Setting up a weekly or bi-weekly payment schedule works for both sides and is easier than getting one larger sum back to you. You may also consider adding to the repayment amount any fees you may have during the sending and processing of the money, such as postage and handling, especially to foreign areas.

It is a good idea to set up an organized system for tracking who and when you give loans to, as well as how much the loan was and how much the interest rate will be. That way, you will know when loans are due at what times and when it is time to start requesting your money if a client is late. You can do this easily from a simple Word Document, Excel, or any other software depending on your computer skills. Good Luck! Micro Lending is a great way to make revenue on the side of your existing job or business, and it serves a great cause to less fortunate people. Simply, it’s a “win-win” situation, with an added benefit of good karma on your side. With loans being small increments, and careful consideration to the people you loan money to, there is little to no risk of loss, and most people receiving these loans are grateful for your services and will always repay the loans back. If you concentrate your services to a small area, your profits are surely going to skyrocket.

The word economy describes a monetary system that encompasses a group of people, resources, land, production and consumption of goods. If you’re discussing the world economy, you’re talking in terms of macro economy. If you’re talking about your household budget, you’re talking in terms of micro economy. The economy of the United States is a macro economy. The economy of a country like Zimbabwe might be better characterized as a micro economy. The economy of a village in Zimbabwe might not even rise to the level of a micro economy. No economy is perhaps a better characterization. A macro economy improves when the individuals comprising its economy can participate in the greater economy around them. Therefore, the world economy is better off if Zimbabwe and the multitude of third world and emerging countries similarly situated can participate. But how can they participate when they cannot provide themselves with clean drinking water and nutritious food to eat? The short answer is they can’t – that is until they were introduced to the brilliant idea that is micro lending.

In short, micro lending is just like traditional lending that we’re familiar with such as getting a loan to buy a car, a house or a new television set. It’s just that micro lending is significantly smaller loans to people who otherwise could not receive a traditional loan. The type of loan these poor individuals are seeking is to start small businesses to provide for their families. There are no payday loan huts in Zimbabwe – no easy credit car loans on every corner. With such a dismal economy, the rest of the world is lucky they haven’t all decided to get on boats and flee to the shores of greener pastures. Here’s where micro lending has the potential to make a huge difference in the microeconomies of third world countries. The Peace Corps just came through an area and taught some villagers how to grow a vegetable. The Peace Corps left and now the villagers have run out of seeds, fertilizer and they need these supplies to continue commerce surrounding the sale of their produce. The villagers can appeal to a microfinance company locally. They meet and discuss the terms of the loan, their past performance and how much they need to make their venture successful. The micro lending company evaluates the proposal and seeks investments from individuals that see the value in this type of loan and are willing to accept some risk. The venture might not succeed but if it does, it not only benefits the microeconomy of the villagers but the economy of their country and the macro economy of the world. Micro lending is truly a unique situation which by benefiting poorer individuals, everyone becomes richer. Micro lending is worthy of your further investigation. It provides an opportunity to give back and increase your personal good fortune.

Micro lending and microfinance are two terms that are often used interchangeably. Micro lending is making a small loan through a microfinance company to a poor individual from an emerging or third world country. Microfinance companies establish a local contact in various emerging and third world countries, such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ecuador, Honduras, Indonesia, Mozambique, and other countries. One thing to consider if you live in the United States and are thinking of starting your own microfinance company serving other countries is the difference in currency between countries. As the aforementioned states, you will pick and choose your budget and how much you care to lend but, this may make a difference as to what countries you lend to. The American dollar may be double the other countries dollar or may be less. Anything will help many of these people seeking your services but you want to ensure the exact amount your dollars are worth. Here are a few examples of why:

Interest rates may increase or decrease pending the total amount loaned in various countries. Your $100.00 investment could mean they are receiving $1000.00. This means that you could collect more interest on the total loan amount. This would increase your chances of making money,
This may affect the amount of time you give each person to pay back the total loan amount. It may be impossible to give a two week time frame for loan repayment on $1000.00 loans.
Your criteria may need to change as a whole. If you are funding someone in hopes of starting a business, the business plans and profit margins may affect whether or not you should loan the money. It may be best to stick to loans under $1000.00 until credit is established with you in regards to repayment.

Establish a website for communication and easy payment handling. WordPress is likely to be the best platform for this. Set it up with a shopping cart and easy to use system for repayment. This may allow for quicker payments from your customers. Snail mail is not an option when dealing with foreign companies. A WordPress site is easy to set up and very user friendly and interactive with the right plug-in and widgets. It would be a great idea to send out an informational sheet on how to repay and what forms of payment are allowed on your website. This will help to keep things running as smooth as possible. Be sure that any customers your have, understand how to utilize your WordPress site to ensure prompt and accurate payments. Check into what the countries local loan companies are doing in regards to repayment plans and how to pay, etc.

It is always great to lend a helping hand to others and be able to rake a few bucks in but, it is also to protect yourself with each investment. Small investments are strongly encouraged when starting your own new micro lending company. It is also wise to understand what any over seas companies may be using as a strategy. These companies are local in these countries and have a better understanding of their people. This is also a large part of researching to stay competitive with the overseas companies. It may increase your chances of becoming a larger player in this international lending tree.

Scott R. Asher’s auto blog theory

On this website I will discuss my experiences in owning a massive Auto-blog network. This massive network of blogs came to a count of nearly 60 plus blogs. I will talk about my mistakes, my feelings about the blogs and best of all, and what I am doing these days.

About the only good idea that came from it was, I made a blog with most of the details of what happenedhere

My quest to Auto blog immortality

The network was getting bigger by the minute; my business partner was wanting to get even bigger! We where at 50 live blogs and for the most part, running strong. Adsense was going full-blast and the work load was intense and enormous. The plan was to keep most of the settings global and uniform, throughout the entire Auto blog network as a potential time saver. To be honest, the theory seemed flawless.

So here come my feelings, you knew this was on its way! While, I appreciated the thought of making a ton of money; this was closely compared to a prison sentence. Sitting, watching and waiting. Fucking miserable. While, watching and waiting, I often questioned if we would in fact be the fucking mega bloggers we hoped to be. All we can do it hope, right?

Auto blogging spam?

Yes – When you are running an auto blog, you are republishing information from the web on your blog. I am not saying that this is not profitable, but don’t be confused, auto blogs are in fact 100% worthless.

My reasons:

  • It is misleading to the reader.
  • You are profiting from someone else’s hard work.
  • Most of the content is not that great anyway.

My personal opinion: I am not sure how much longer auto blogging will be allowed to continue. I am sure at some point Google will mount a campaign to start to possibly sandboxing suspected auto blogs. Organic content is what any blog needs.

About the only good idea that came from it was, I made a blog with most of the details of what happenedhere

The best result

I found that you have the best result with auto blogging, when the blog has been aged. Your blog has by then, already gotten readership and followers on a consistent level.

My past auto blog project

You can read about the details of my past auto blog project –

It is called The India Project and we succeeded in making 77 auto blogs all more or less at about 25% capacity.

My current auto blog project

I am currently working on my own blog network without using auto blogged content. You can see the list of blogs on the lower sidebar of this site. Because I am the only one working on it, many of the blogs are in different stages of development. I will post the differences when I get a bit further into my new venture. This will allow me to accurately compare the pros and cons of each way.

Scott R. Asher – How to write an article for your membership site

Scott R. Asher gives you great WordPress blogging tips. When starting your first site, you will probably be writing a lot of the articles yourself. Knowing what to write, how to write it, and how to format it will keep your members longer.

Rules for creating articles:

  • Make your article timeless – You want your content to last as long as possible on your website. Don’t write any articles at first that are tied to current events or give how-to instructions for a system that will work today but will be obsolete next week. This way you can build up a library of content that will be relevant for years to come.
  • Make your articles sell your website – I know, your member’s have already been sold, but you need to keep selling them so they don’t cancel their membership. Make each article you write benefit driven, and don’t be afraid to tell the reader what benefits they are getting out of the article.
  • Know your members – If you have a membership site geared towards stock trading and your members are already savvy traders then don’t write a lot of content with “common knowledge”; things like “How to Open a Brokerage Account”. But if your members are newbie investors, then write articles that would be considered “common knowledge” for a more seasoned investor.

Elements of an Article

An article needs to have just a few simple elements to be effective.

1. Headline – Put the benefits of the article into the headline. If it’s the transcript of an interview you did, don’t have a headline that says “Transcript of Interview with John Smith”. Make it say something like “How John Smith gets a 47% annual yield with commodities using a simple checklist that will work for you!”

2. Introduction – Make your article start with the description of a problem that most of your member’s are probably facing. Then begin a story about how you or someone else had the same problem. The introduction doesn’t have to be a single paragraph.

3. Body – Discuss all the solutions to the problem outlined in the Introduction. Continue the story telling them how they can fix the problem, or how someone came up with a solution to the problem.

4. Conclusion – Wrap up the article to give the story an ending. This would be a good place to put a link to an affiliate website if you have one.

5. Provide Resources – Try not to send your reader outside of your site unless it’s an affiliate link. Post links to related resources at the end of the article. If you have to, create some resources to match the article and put them into your site.

Format the Article

You can have the greatest content in the world, but if it’s hard to read, your member’s will cancel their membership. You need to format all the content that goes up onto your site whether it was written by you or submitted by someone else. Here are some basic guidelines for formatting your articles:

1. Make the headline stand out – The headline is what attracts the member into reading the article. Don’t make the font the same size as the text of the article. Make it bigger, bolder, or in a different color… or all three. However don’t go overboard and make it fit the look and feel of your site.

2. Use short paragraphs – Make sure that most paragraphs are no longer than 5 lines long; 3 is even better. Long paragraphs are hard to read, so your members will skip the article instead of reading long paragraphs. Don’t be afraid to break apart longer paragraphs, even if it means breaking some grammatical rules.

3. Use lots of sub-heads – No matter what you do, not all of your members will read the articles. Many of them will just skim. So add benefit driven sub-heads to highlight the important parts of the article so the reader knows the article is filled with valuable content even if he doesn’t read it.

4. Create bullet lists – When possible, take content from the article and turn it into numbered or bulleted lists. Studies show that people will take the time to read lists even if they don’t read the article. People seem to find lists more valuable than article content.

The $15,000.00 table – Another Great Money Making Idea Courtesy of Scott Asher

tableOne thing that I love more than anything in this world is making money out of almost nothing! I hope you enjoy today’s post!

A carpenter at heart – I occasionally get inspired to do some woodworking and run with it.  I was out with my wife, checking out some garage sales and we found an old table.  The table was in poor condition and as I like to do, I talked the owner down to ten bucks.  Ten bucks for a table!  This is one reason I love garage sales.  As also happens with garage sales purchases, it sat around in my garage and for some time I couldn’t figure out what I was going to do with it. Finally my wife presents me with an ultimatum.  Do something with the table or we’re going to sell it at our own garage sale.  I love going to garage sales, not having garage sales.  “Let me think on it, please honey, let’s not have a garage sale,”  I said.  I was on a surfing trip with some bros in Mexico when inspiration hit.  We had taken a break from the waves (I know that’s hard to imagine but even surfing needs a break occasionally) and were walking through a flea market in Rosarito.  I saw this old weather beaten, antique Mexican door and they wanted I think 40 pesos for it which was about the equivalent of $4.  Four bucks for a door?!  Sure, I’ll take that any time I can find it.  I know it’s starting to sound like I have a weakness for bargain shopping but this is not the case.  I saw in my mind’s eye, the door and the table in my garage that I needed to handle or suffer some consequences in my marriage.  So I put this old door in my truck and brought it over the border. I love buying stuff like this because bringing the door over the border, nobody looked or even cared about it. How can you argue that the door had any value and no one cares. It’s an old door, what are you going to say?

IM003258So I get this door and drag it home, I am already aware of the value in old doors.  When I was little younger I would go to Mexico and buy few sets of old doors and take them to Newport Beach and other areas along the coast and peddle them to the rich people for 8-10 grand on the spot, this included installation.  One day, maybe two days of work an voila, cash money! But I get this door home, the idea hits me over the head to use the garage sale table, add the door to the center of it and put a sheet of glass on the top.  I secured the door with a L bracket kit from Lowe’s which cost me 3 bucks.  So now I’ve got about 17 bucks invested in the table.

Making the table from the door was easy.  The real skill here is looking for stuff that can undergo this kind of transformation. It must be real wood, and posses the traits to become something better and of course, I would have never purchased these items for any real money.  The trick is learning to see the potential and a finished project from apparently worthless items.

I took the table to the La Jolla arts and crafts show. A lady about 26 years old paid me with the cash she had on her. She asked me to hold her keys to her G-wagon, while she dug in her purse for the money.  Fifteen thousand bucks – almost all entirely profit!

Tools I used:
Belt sander – Skill Saw – Air-Nailer –

Supplies:
One dollar returned can of paint, from Home Depot.
Sand paper.
Sheet of glass. – 60 bucks.

Total investment: about 105 bucks.

I do rehabs all the time, for example I got this dresser for 6 bucks and sold it for 300.00 after refinishing it.

The Network

A long while ago, I had meet this really interesting Asian Business man and overtime we had developed a partnership and like most partnerships I had the privilege of becoming close friends with him. Typically, it is hard to get to be good friends with Asian people. They are very family oriented and most of all they stick together. They work very hard in business, in family, in money, and shoulder to shoulder, they are an extremely tight knit group. In my mind, this is why they are so successful.

One day he told me about “The Network.” The Network, was about 30 business men that meet biweekly, they reported what was going on and they all did business together. Despite our close friendship, I was given the opportunity to meet anyone from the group, or go to any meetings. The one thing that I thought was very interesting was instead of banks they had a internal loaning system. My buddy explained many interesting details about how “The Network” operated. All loans where at a very low interest rate and the payments are very low. Because all the members where in business, you could tell everyone your needs, and they would explore and pool resources to get the  best for you needs. Also part of the deal was, we help you, you give back. So he shared that it was encouraged that 3% of your profits go to the group for life of the membership. All members had healthcare that every member paid for. We talked about how he thought that the failure rate would be higher in the same organization with Americans.

The Network was based on the concept of working together to all become rich together. All the proceeds for The Network where paid out in Christmas checks every single year. If any disagreement happens, the group voted as to the outcome and fines would be levied.

There are so many reasons why this is a great idea, but the one that stands out is, people pulling together to achieve one goal and that is success.  There is only one reason why this would fail and that would be due to the selfish nature of people.
